On Saturday, April 6th, greenway stewards from across the City gathered for an afternoon workshop of resource-sharing, networking, and conversation about protecting and improving Pittsburgh’s greenways.

Pretty Up Beechview coordinated the event with Grounded Strategies (formerly Gtech) as part of the Resilience Generation assistance grant awarded to PUB by Grounded in the spring of 2018.   The workshop provided an opportunity to learn from fellow stewardship groups, identify free community resources, share best practices, and connect with City officials.

Local greenspace organizations such as Allegheny Cleanways, Allegheny Land Trust, TreePgh, GrowPgh as well as PUB and Grounded Strategies presented key information and resources for use in Pittsburgh’s greenways.  City planning also presented the new Greenways Policy and it’s current status while fielding questions for how the steward designation process will be handled.  Overall the event was a great success with attendees representing 6 of the city’s greenways.
