1st Annual City of Pittsburgh Garbage Olympics Champions!

On September 22nd Pretty Up Beechview made news with an exciting win in the 1st annual Pittsburgh Garbage Olympics!

We had huge hauls from all over the neighborhood, and a great showing of support from members of other Beechview groups like the Beechview Revitalization Advisory Group (BRAG) and the Beechview Area Concerned Citizens (BACC). Together we collected 70 bags of garbage, five TVs, one bike, and one refrigerator! The prize for first place includes neighborhood bragging rights and an Oscar (the Grouch) trophy, which will be displayed at the Beechview Library. Check out photos in the gallery below.
